Meet Your Trauma-Informed EMDR Therapist in St. Louis

You’re not broken — your nervous system has been trying to protect you.

About Erica – Better Wellness Counseling

If you’ve always been the capable one — the helper, the peacemaker, the one who keeps it together — you may be quietly exhausted.

Many of the women I work with look successful on the outside but feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure of themselves on the inside. They’ve spent years putting others first, minimizing their needs, and carrying emotional weight that was never meant to be theirs.

You’re not broken. Your nervous system adapted to keep you safe. And those patterns can change.

Trauma-Informed Therapy That Goes Deeper

Hi… I’m really glad you’re here.

I do this work because I believe people are capable of real, meaningful change - not just managing symptoms, but truly understanding themselves in a way that creates something different.

Over the years, I’ve seen how often women stay stuck in patterns that once made sense… but no longer serve them. Patterns like over-giving, pushing through, or constantly second-guessing themselves.

What matters to me is helping you see those patterns clearly - without judgment - so you can begin to move through them in a way that actually feels different.

The Heart of My Philosophy

At the core of my work is a simple belief: when women move out of survival mode and into their own power, everything changes.

So many of the patterns that once kept you safe - over-giving, people-pleasing, self-silencing - eventually start to keep you stuck.

This work isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about releasing what’s been holding you back… so you can show up more fully, more intentionally, and more like yourself.

What I see again and again is this: when women begin honoring their own needs - they become more grounded, more present, and more aligned with who they truly are.

A little about me…

I’m a mom, a lifelong learner, and someone who feels most grounded when I’m outside or connected to nature. I grew up in the Chicagoland area and now call St. Louis home.

People closest to me would describe me as funny, direct, and loyal.

My spiritual life is an important part of who I am - I’m drawn to both the practical and the meaningful, and I bring that balance into the way I show up with my clients.

After 17 years in this field, I’m still inspired by the human ability to grow and transform. Being part of that process is something I feel genuinely honored to do.
